Spooky forests and slapstick heists - it's the October email
Two new games this month! Not that we forgot to send an email last month, no. Absolutely not.
Strap in, it’s the October email
What happened to the September email, we hear you ask - well, don’t ask. Don’t poke your nose around where it doesn’t belong. Fine lookin’ nose you got there - would be a real shame if it got caught all up in someone else’s business. You get us? You get us. We’re on the same page. Now, go and read the news and download the free games and we’ll say no more about it, okay?
THE HEARTSWOOD
Top of the shop this month is The Heartswood, Grant’s collaboration with Sarah Gordon. Sarah did the drawings, Grant did the words, and it’s worked out pretty well we think - it’s about descending into a corrupted dreamscape to try and mend your broken heart, flanked by the most powerful facets of your personality. Plus it doesn’t look like a toddler got at it! Download it here.
DIE, DIE, DIE

That’s right - DIE! We’re publishing the official DIE RPG, written by Kieron Gillen who wrote the DIE comic, and produced by us. DIE is a game about flawed, tragic individuals trapped in a strange fantasy kingdom and trying (or not trying) to escape. We were gonna Kickstart it in November, but on account of the Ongoing Unpleasantness there’s no spare paper left and no-one’s shipping anything anywhere, so we’re holding out until Spring. You can follow the Kickstarter at this link to be notified immediately when it goes live.
ARLECCHINO’S ELEVEN

Combining Heist Movies and Niche 17th-Century Italian Theatre (two great tastes that taste great together) Arlecchino’s Eleven is a collaboration between Grant and Danny Lavery, who (Grant reckons) is pretty much one of the greatest writers of our generation. Grant made him write a game about robbing a casino but also putting on an improvised play at the same time, and instead of being a 1-page game it’s 34 pages long, and he barely complained at all. Real class act.
You can download this bizarre experiment here, and even if you don’t play it, you could probably use it to stage a viable Commedia Dell’Arte performance.
DRAGONMEET - WE’RE GONNA BE THERE!
Dragonmeet is happening on the 4th December in London’s scenic HAMMERSMITH NOVOTEL and, hoo boy, we’re gonna be there! That is, we’re gonna be there assuming that the UK isn’t pitched into another year of Festive Lockdowns and the convention is cancelled, so fingers crossed.
We’ll have all of our lovely new products there (such as: Heart! Heart Sourcebooks! Heart maps! And other, non-ENnie-award-winning, inferior works!) although no copies of Sin or nothing because, as we mentioned, the world ran out of paper and we’re still waiting on these bloody trees to get their act together and start growing.
If you want to come and see our beautiful (masked) faces, grab yourself a ticket and do so and then - and we cannot stress this enough - spend all of your money at our stall. We will also be accepting gifts if you already own all of our products.
That’s all for now.
Love and hugs,
Grant, Chris, Maz and Mina
