IT REMAINS JULY
They say I have to write one of these things every month, and you know? Some months I even do that. Turns out this month is one of those months.
Now when I say “they” I mean “me and the other owners of RRD,” so really I’m hoisting myself by my own petard here - did you know that a petard is an explosive device, by the way? And “hoisting” oneself references getting accidentally exploded so you fly through the air? I always thought a petard was a sort of hook. This is much more exciting. Here’s a picture of a petard:

Good stuff! Good stuff. Here’s the news:
CLUEDON’T
Grant’s collaborations - and when I say “Grant,” again, I’m referring to myself - continue apace, and this time he, or if you’d prefer I, have collaborated with immersive theatre whiz and ludopunk Chloe Mashiter to create CLUEDON’T, a game where you and your strange relatives are all attempting to be arrested for murder to claim a massive inheritance. It’s all very clever.
WE’RE NOT AT UKGE SO WE’RE DOING FREE SHIPPING INSTEAD

It’s UK Games Expo this weekend! We’re not going, because a) we’ve got too much going on elsewhere tbh and b) the United Kingdom is still a bit plaguey so we’re gonna wait until Dragonmeet, probably, because we start breathing on all our products and shoving them directly into your moist, fecund little hands.
BUT you can recreate the experience of going to UKGE - or at least the experience of not paying for shipping and instead buying things directly from a shop - by entering the code “notatukge” at checkout on rrdgames.com OR ufopress.co.uk, and we’ll handle that bothersome shipping cost for you, no problem, no questions asked. Coupon’s good until Monday night GMT, so get on it!
If you want to recreate the other quintessential element of going to UKGE, simply pay six quid for a mediocre pint of beer then wait half an hour to be allowed to drink it.
SHATTERED CITY ARRIVES

Shattered City, UFO Press’ game of post-colonial politics, conflicting loyalties and big crystals that do magic is arriving with Kickstarter backers! As you can see from the shot above, it’s looking gorgeous. Once we get a sizable amount of them into the US and with our distributor, we’ll start getting them out to shops and put them on general release. More soon!
WE’RE STILL WRITING SIN

When you agree to a bunch of stretch goals during a very successful Kickstarter campaign - and you figure you’ll write the copy yourself because that way you won’t have to juggle schedules and rely on anyone else to deliver your product - well, turns out, you have to write about four books at short notice. Well well well, if it isn’t the consequences of my actions, etc.
Seriously though we’re turning out some great stuff here and it’s exciting to get back behind the wheel of Spire for a bit after spending so long on Heart and other mysterious projects, writing some top-drawer grim whimsy and really doubling down on the bureaucracy and fashion jokes. We’re just finishing up work on the Revolutionary’s Guide to Spire (we enlisted Chris McDowall to help out and write half of the gags), so please enjoy this illustrative clipping:

What’s more, we’re creating a series of NPCs to trick, beguile and blackmail in our Conspiracy Kit - one of them is pictured above, she’s a Solar Pantheon priest who really doesn’t care about any of the Sun Gods and just wants an afternoon off - and, well, everything’s coming together really interestingly. More news when we have it!
That’s everything! Be good to one another, take care of yourselves, and as ever, continue to purchase our games.
