Kaiju Girl, She's Been Living In Her Kaiju World

Kaiju Girl, She's Been Living In Her Kaiju World

I bet she's never been crushed to death / I bet her monster form has fire breath

It's the RR&D September email! Hey, what's up?

Things are still weird but we're still making games, so there's that. Want to hear about them? Sure you do!

KAIJU GIRLS

Grant wrote a game about being a schoolgirl! But a schoolgirl that turns into a giant monster when she gets upset, because that's the sort of guy he is. You can download it here.

UNBOUND REPRINT

We're redesigning and reprinting Unbound, our game of world-building and tactical cinematic combat, because when we released it four years ago we didn't think to make any additional copies. Rookie mistake. Anyway: we're doing it on Kickstarter to make sure we have enough money to make it happen. If you're interested in picking up a physical copy, you can keep a track of our Kickstarter campaign here - it should go live next month.

SAVAGE GODLINGS

Savage Godlings is an actual play Spire podcast and they are going at it hard. If you're interested in hearing a game of Spire played out by some really enthusiastic people, you could do a lot worse than tuning into this one - check out their Twitter for more info.

HERE ARE SOME KICKSTARTERS WE LIKE

You might have noticed that this edition of the newsletter is a little news-light; while stuff is happening with us, it's all happening behind the scenes and not in a way we can really share with you yet. So here are some Kickstarters for projects we think are cool that are live right now:

BOLT RPG

Generic games are really hard to do well, especially on Kickstarter, but BOLT looks to be doing some interesting stuff with the concept. This image implies that's possible to use BOLT to play neon-drenched kung fu investigators with neon swords, which can only be a good thing.

BRINKWOOD

We like games about overthrowing bastards, and Brinkwood is about overthrowing vampires - real bastards, if you ask us. It's based on Blades in the Dark and sees you and your mates strapping on masks to infiltrate vampire strongholds and drink their blood. Which is nice!

BEST LEFT BURIED: DEEPER

Best Left Buried is a horrible game about bad people dying in godawful caves, which aligns it neatly with what we're into, and Soulmuppet are good people. This is an updated, revised and expanded edition of BLB. Grant's lined up to do a stretch goal and he's quite excited about the prospect of getting to write some really grimdark nonsense where you sick up a lung or something.
Right, that's all for now. Speak soon!
