Giant goddamn robots
Hello!
2017 has been ground to dust under the relentless march of progress, and we stare longingly at the flanks of 2018 as they glimmer ahead of us. What's new for Rowan, Rook and Decard in this bright and terrifying future?
FREE GAME: Giant Goddamn Robots
January's free one-page game is GIANT GODDAMN ROBOTS, a silly game that Grant wrote as the culmination of four years spent trying to write a mech combat RPG. In GGR, you draw pictures of robots and then flick dice at them from across the table in an attempt to simulate futuristic warfare.
We hope you enjoy it - take a look here. If you're interested in supporting Grant's work, you can subscribe to Secrets here, too.
Hearty Dice Friends
We have a podcast! Did you know that? Anyway, Chris and Grant continue to record themselves offering sage game design and roleplaying advice, as well as making jokes about kissing handsome orcs. You can check out every episode of Hearty Dice Friends on our Patreon page, or subscribe to us wherever it is you get podcasts from.
Spire: Last orders,
pre-orders
Spire is in the final stages of layout, and we're gearing up to release the PDF next month and print off physical copies for delivery in March. If you're interested in learning more about our upcoming fantasypunk revolution game, you can take a look at our new info page here - and if you'd like a physical copy, get your orders in sooner rather than later!
UK Games Expo
We're proud to announce that we're going to be part of an indie collective who are hiring joint table space at this year's UK Games Expo in June, which means you'll be able to buy all of our products from a stall in the main hall. Do come along and say hello; Grant will draw you a goblin if you ask him nicely.
A year of one-page games
Grant's been writing one-page RPGs for a year, now - actually a bit longer than that, really - but we've decided to release his first 13 as a bundle package for sale on the site. This bundle contains 13 signed high-quality prints, double-sided with back page content that's never released online: stuff like the spell list for Honey Heist, a game in which you play accidentally summoned demons trying to help a good witch on a date, a D&D adventure with an eye the size of a house in it, and many more. You can pick up all 13 here.
That's us for January - we'll be back next month with another game. Heaven knows what it'll be about.
